Armonia “Craft Beer & Food Pairing” – European Beer Competition

Al via la prima edizione del concorso internazionale Armonia “Craft Beer & Food Pairing”,

l’unico concorso birrario che si caratterizza per un approccio multidisciplinare e coinvolge produttori, assaggiatori, chef, foodies e consumatori.

Il Concorso Internazionale ARMONIA “Craft Beer and Food Pairing” è rivolto a tutti i birrifici artigianali con sede nel territorio europeo ed è costituito da diverse fasi di giudizio.

logo_armonia_beerintheplate_Prova coloreUn’evoluzione innovativa con i caratteri dell’internazionalità, focalizzato sì sulla qualità delle birre, ma soprattutto sugli abbinamenti e sulle preparazioni culinarie a base di birra nell’ambito della ristorazione.

Nel presentare Armonia “Craft Beer and Food Pairing” a Milano Expo2015 lo scorso Ottobre il professor Andrea Zanlari, presidente del concorso Armonia e della camera di Commercio di Parma ha sintetizzato così: “importante il concetto di armonia, nel cibo come nella vita. L’armonia deriva dal confronto che è anche crescita e miglioramento”.

ARMONIA “Craft Beer and Food Pairing”  è un evento finalizzato a

  • premiare le eccellenze anche e soprattutto in un’ottica di abbinamento birra-cibo;
  • promuovere un utilizzo consapevole del prodotto in cucina e in tavola, creando sinergie utili per una corretta valorizzazione del prodotto e per un incremento in termini di diffusione e commercializzazione nella ristorazione, soprattutto all’estero.

Una commissione di giudici italiani ed europei sarà selezionata personalmente da Lorenzo Kuaska Dabove, direttore tecnico del concorso.

Saranno questi tavoli di giuria sparsi in giro per l’Italia e all’estero a decidere le birre destinate alla finale, dove un ristretto panel di giudici di livello internazionale decreterà i vincitori dell’ARMONIA BEER Trophy 2016.

Un notaio, inoltre, garantirà gli aspetti formali, l’anonimizzazione dei singoli campioni e le modalità operative.

Un gruppo tra i migliori chef europei, inoltre, valuterà e premierà con l’ARMONIA Beer in the Plate Award i migliori piatti pensati e preparati da giovani chef e foodies con le birre vincitrici durante le prime fasi della selezione.

Una giuria composta da designer, comunicatori e giornalisti valuterà l’impatto comunicativo e grafico di etichetta e bottiglia per l’assegnazione del Packaging & Design Award

Il Concorso vedrà inoltre il coinvolgimento dei consumatori stessi in qualità di giuria popolare che valuteranno le birre in abbinamento con piatti e prodotti delle varie filiere, assaggiati e votati anche da esponenti del mondo dei foodies e degli appassionati per l’assegnazione del People’s Choice Award.

Insomma, un concorso decisamente articolato ma anche diverso dai concorsi birrari nazionali e internazionali che giudicano solo la qualità della birra.

Le fasi finali del Concorso e la cerimonia di premiazione avranno luogo presso la C.C.I.A.A. di Parma nel maggio 2016

What is an Olive Oil Sommelier? 

A Professional Olive Oil Sommelier has a thorough knowledge of the full production process of olive oil – “from the grove to the bottle” – and is highly skilled in the selection, classification, promotion and rational use of olive oil.

Our goal is to offer a well balanced theory and practical course that will provide students with the right skills and knowledge to be able to communicate the rational use of olive oil in the kitchen and on the plate, in particular, the harmonization of EVOO & Food.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have acquired skills and certification, entitling them to join the International Register of Olive Oil Experts and to be part of professional olive oil evaluation panels.

Olive Oil Academy Australia

This internationally competition is now in its third year and is open to all small and independent producers of Olive Oil in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

ARMONIA is the only Olive Oil competition that encourages chefs, cooks, enthusiasts and consumers to expand their knowledge of “Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) of EXCELLENCE” as well as new, alternative uses and techniques for increasing consumption in catering, in the kitchen and on the table.

As in previous years, where the judging panel consisted of some of the best chefs in Australia including Gary Mehigan of MasterChef Australia, the competition “Armonia in the Kitchen” will take place in a famous cooking school in Sydney.

This year’s theme is “Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), Rice & … ” Chef, Food bloggers and Foodies will compete to prepare the best risotto with Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Excellence selected from the competition’s ARMONIA winning Oils.

Logo Anzsa 2014In the previous international edition of “EVOO, Rice &…”, the winning young chef’s are now lucky enough to be completing a 2 week internship with Jamie Oliver at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in Cornwall UK.

The theme “EVOO, Rice & …” was chosen this year because risotto rice has always been considered one of the best products to maximize all degrees in the flavours of EVOO Excellence, and is a good opportunity to launch the follow on competition to find the Best Risotto in Australia.

Anyone with experience in the evaluation of EVOO may submit an application to be part of the jury selection. A special panel will be composed of consumers for the recognition of “EVOO People’s Choice 2014″ The evaluation panel will be led by qualified Australian Panel Supervisors.

This year’s winner award will have their product promoted by The Olive Oil Academy to all Australian restaurants that use and display the EVOO of Excellence.

The Gala Dinner and Award ceremony will be held in Sydney in December 2014 (date TBA).
