ARMONIA Competition – All the winners of the 12th edition

After a double awards ceremony, we have now all the winners of this 12th edition of International Olive Oil Competition ARMONIA.

The first Awards ceremony was held in Italy on Thursday 10 May at 12.30 at the Sala del Consiglio of Cibus Fiera di Parma.

During the ceremony, the list of winners is disclosed and the winning producers have received the Trophy and the Special Mentions.

Special Awards have been assigned for the communicative impact of the design of the packaging and the graphic image of the labels.

The other awards ceremony, reserved to the Spanish producers winning the Competition, took place on 17 May in Montoro during Feria del Olivo de Montoro – Cordoba (Spain). During this ceremony name of the winners of ARMONIA in the Kitchen was revealed.

Armonia in the Kitchen, the Didactical and Educational Cooking Competition, reserved this year to the students of the Escuela de Cocina HACIENDA la LAGUNA – Baeza (Jaén), challenges young cooks to create new dishes using the awarded olive oils. This interaction is the key to promoting a greater understanding of the use of extra virgin olive oil and therefore, increasing its consumption in the local market.

Students winning the competition will receive Trophy Armonie in the kitchen for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd classified and vouchers to participate to an olive oil tasting course organizing by Tierra de Olivos.

It was not only an Awards Ceremony but also an opportunity to meet and to relate for the producers of excellence!

A high level qualification and professionalization course, designed for those who have obtained in the past Olive Oil Sommelier diploma and for olive oil tasters or connoisseurs to improve their skills and competencies in the field.

The course is designed also for those who want to obtain Olive Oil Sommelier diploma with a new comprehensive and original formula, using teaching unique approach that guarantees a solid understanding of the required skills and innovative content never studied before in this field.

Our goal is to offer a high level qualification and professionalization course to improve theoretical and practical knowledge concerning sensorial analysis, also with guided tasting sessions with more than 60 olive oils coming from worldwide.

Those who want to verify their subjective perception can take part to the optional selective trials, perception olfactory tests for the comprehension of the different intensities.

Practical laboratories will present techniques to create directly blends with olive oils with different origins and characteristics.

During the course participants will take part to laboratories concerning gastronomy and healthy aspects, with degustation and cooking demonstrations and a peculiar attention to the alternative use of olive oil in cooking, in cold preparations in kitchen and in restaurants and for the preparation of cosmetics.

Very interesting will be also the session of the course dedicated to the marketing oriented to the difference between countries and customs in the different markets and with a focus to the ways to turn costs into profit opportunities.

Enrollments now open for the 12th edition of the International Olive Oil Competition ARMONIA, established in 2006 by IRVEA-Olive Oil Academy and ALMA- the International School of Italian Cuisine at the Palazzo Ducale in Colorno (PR).

The Armonia International Olive Oil Competition is still the first and only International Olive Oil Competition which involves producers, tasters, chefs, foodies and consumers in recognising and awarding prizes to the best international EVOOs and for their mindful use in food and oil pairing.

The competition is divided into

  • ARMONIA OLIVE OIL COMPETITION – Trophy 2018 – Sensory competition, awarded to the three top-ranked oils in each flavour category: Delicate, Medium and Intense
  • SPECIAL MENTION awarded to the five highest-ranked oils after the top three in each category
  • ARMONIE IN THE KITCHEN – Special Recognition Award assigned to young chefs, food bloggers and cooking enthusiasts who have created the best dish/recipe with the ARMONIA Trophy 2018 winning oils
  • ARMONIA PACKAGING – Special Recognition Award assigned to the product with the best graphic design and communicative impact
  • ARMONIA PEOPLE CHOICE – Special Recognition Award assigned by a Judging Panel (NOT tasters) to competing oils.

All formal procedures, anonymous candidature of individual samples and operative procedures will be guaranteed by a notary until the prize-giving ceremony that will take place at Parma in May 2018, during CIBUS.

Preselections and final selections will be held at the Parma Chamber of Commerce with the participation of professional tasters and panel leaders coming from worldwide.

ARMONIA Food Festival

Con il 2017 si dà l’avvio all’ARMONIA Food Festival, il festival internazionale finalizzato alla valorizzazione delle eccellenze agroalimentari, produttive e ambientali, mediante l’identificazione e premiazione di prodotti, produttori, fotografi, giornalisti, blogger e operatori delle varie filiere produttive, commerciali e della comunicazione agroalimentare, che, in questa sua prima edizione, sarà interamente dedicato al “Maiale”.

Il Festival, con il suo innovativo format, riguarderà l’intera filiera del prodotto, ”…dalla terra alla tavola”, dall’allevamento alla lavorazione, dalla cultura gastronomica alla combinazione e abbinamento con altri prodotti e bevande.

Durante il corso del 2017 si succederanno le diverse attività che compongono il Festival.

Si parte con l’International Olive Oil Competition ARMONIA, che giunto alla sua XI edizione, si contraddistingue per la sua multidisciplinarietà e la portata internazionale delle attività proposte.

Negli anni il Concorso Armonia ha saputo offrire garanzia di anonimato dei campioni e omogeneità di valutazione delle diverse giurie, tra le quali figurano assaggiatori professionisti, chef internazionali e giudici di MasterChef Australia.

Il Concorso presenta diverse fasi di valutazione: alla selezione di natura sensoriale si accosta quella del packaging per premiare la confezione o l’etichetta più comunicativa, senza dimenticare Armonie in cucina, la sezione dedicata alla competizione per la creazione della migliore ricetta con gli oli vincitori.

ARMONIA – European Craft Beer & Food Pairing Competition:

Un concorso focalizzato a premiare le birre artigianali di qualità, con particolare riferimento agli abbinamenti e le preparazioni culinarie a base di birra in cucina e nella ristorazione.

Giunto alla sua II edizione, si caratterizza per l’approccio multidisciplinare, raggruppando al suo interno produttori, assaggiatori, chef, foodies, designers e consumatori.

Scritti & Scatti di Gusto

Un concorso di fotografia e di scrittura finalizzato a premiare gli autori di racconti inediti, reportage video e fotografici, servizi giornalistici e articoli in lingua italiana, a tema enogastronomia. Il concorso è riservato a giovani scrittori, food blogger, aspiranti giornalisti, giornalisti pubblicisti, fotografi, registri e cameraman e appassionati di video-fotografia Under 30.

Il Concorso Oleario Internazionale Armonia, giunto alla XI edizione è ancora il primo e l’unico Concorso Oleario Internazionale che coinvolgendo produttori, assaggiatori, chef, foodies e consumatori riconosce e premia i migliori EVOO internazionali ed il loro utilizzo consapevole nell’abbinamento olio-cibo.

Il Concorso è ideato e organizzato da IRVEA – Istituto per la Ricerca e la Valorizzazione delle Eccellenze Agroalimentari e Ambientali e Olive Oil Academy in collaborazione con la C.C.I.A.A. di Parma e S.S.I.C.A.- Stazione Sperimentale Industrie delle Conserve Alimentari di Parma.

Il Concorso si propone di:

• stimolare e incoraggiare olivicoltori e frantoiani per il miglioramento della qualità del prodotto, riconoscendo e premiando i migliori EVOO internazionali;

• promuovere la conoscenza, l’utilizzo consapevole e l’armonizzazione del gusto nella combinazione olio-cibo, mediante competizioni gastronomiche tra chef professionisti, giovani cuochi, foodies e comuni consumatori;

Armonia Trophy is the first and only Olive Oil Competition that encourages restaurateurs, caterers, chefs and young chefs, foodbloggers enthusiasts and consumers to expand their knowledge about the “EVOO of Excellence” and the new “alternative use” for increasing consumption in the kitchen and on the table.
Aims of the contest are:
  • to encourage olive oil producers and processors to strive to improve their quality, to promote excellence in extra virgin olive oil and the appreciation of its health and nutrition benefits in the kitchen and on the plate;
  • rewarding with awards and prizes the best olive oil producers in all the world, with the aim of promoting and increasing knowledge of Extravirgin Olive Oil and consumption in their local markets;
  • to promote the study and the knowledge of olive oil quality, classification and new “alternative” techniques for restaurant kitchen, table and bakery use.
A competition that guarantees the anonymity of the participants, the impartiality of the evaluation and that favors the promotion, the knowledge of oil of quality and the “alternative uses” in restaurants and in general in the kitchen.

Si è svolta a Parma, presso la Sala Convegni della Camera di Commercio la cerimonia di premiazione del X Concorso Internazionale di Olio di Oliva e dell’Armonia European Craft Beer Competition.

Durante la cerimonia sono stati resi noti i nominativi dei vincitori che hanno ricevuto il Trofeo e le Gran Menzioni sia nel settore olio di oliva che nel settore delle birre artigianali.

Premi speciali sono stati assegnati anche a quelli che sono stati valutati i migliori packaging, valutandone l’impatto comunicativo e il design della bottiglia e dell’etichetta.
