An enveloping food and wine journey that will take you to experience wines, olive oils, cheeses, cured meats, grilled meats, Tuscan crostini and homemade pasta.
“On site” lessons, guided visits to producers of the best oils and wines and, above all, the culture and nature of green Tuscany.
You will learn how to conduct a professional olive oil tasting, sampling more than 60 labels from different parts of the world. In addition, you will learn about the production processes and different ways of storing and selling the product, while visiting olive grower and olive oil mills in production, getting to know about the manufacturing processes firsthand.
This course is suitable for food lovers, enthusiasts and professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge of olive oil in all its aspects: a journey to discover olive oil “from the tree to the plate.”
You will become able to communicate the rational use of olive oil in the kitchen and on the table, pair it with the right food and keep everything harmonious.
The olive oil sommelier is a professional capable of guiding the consumer to make an informed choice and transforming costs into profit opportunities in the retail trade, in restaurants and for consumers.
At course completion, participants will have acquired skills and certification (Sensory aptitude certificate) entitling them to join the International Register of “Olive Oil Experts”. These new olive oil professionals have the opportunity to be part of a professional olive oil evaluation panel or jurers in international olive oil competitions.
